INEFC La Seu: a university centre connected with nature

THE CHALLENGE

INEFC proposed creating a new university centre for physical activity and sport in La Seu d’Urgell, with an educational offering adapted to new trends in the sector and closely connected to the natural environment. The challenge was to determine the economic, educational and social feasibility of the project. Different locations, implementation models and configurations of the academic offering had to be assessed, alongside the conditions needed for the centre to generate activity, attract talent and strengthen La Seu d’Urgell’s position as a leading destination for sport and nature.

THE SOLUTION

At itik consultoria, we prepared a comprehensive feasibility study to support decision-making on the establishment of the INEFC La Seu university centre. We calculated implementation and operating costs and identified various sources of income linked to undergraduate and master’s degrees, intensive training courses, and specialisation and performance development programmes, among others. We also incorporated complementary services, such as student accommodation, and assessed the project’s potential impact on the outdoor physical activity sector, the local economy, and the social and demographic vitality of the area.
